How to give references in resume?

Reference plays an important part in your resume and these days students must be seen creating their resumes in vvarious formats and designs but if you don't carry the best reference in your resume it is mostly worthless.because reference plays a very vital role in giving you a better job.
What are referenes?
If you have applied for any job interview in any of the companies in your cuntry or abroad you need to give a name of a verified person who must be a well known person or a person who must be some good personality.Hope you understand what i mean about.
Now where the reference is given in your resume?
References mostly given at the end of your resume in the bottom left corner.It is given just before the end of your resume where you sign it or stamped.
How to select your reference?
First reference should be given to the person who is directly or indirectly attached to your proffession.
For Ex:-If you are in an IT sector so you can give reference of your H.O.D of your college from where you have pursued your graduation.
The pursuing of reference should be that the person you are taking in as your reference must be informed about this so that he can be alert that the following companies may ask the following referene about your behaviour,working knowledge and behaviour.So always select your reference cleverly and the person who is knows you more.
Who should not be taken as reference?
You should not give you friends name as reference.You also cannot give reference of your blood relation they are mostly considered as normal and not takken seriously.
What should be given in full reference of a person?
The following details should be given in reference of a person.

Present Position
Company's Address(If any)
Home Address
Contact phone Number
Email address
Always give reference of a person whom you think can be fruiful in your job.
